Great photos, that last one looks so cosy with the two women sitting in front of the fire.

It does look cozy. When I clicked on the photo, I noticed that there is a woman lying on a daybed to the right of the fireplace. She and the lady nearest to her are reading newspapers. Based on the date of the photo, they were midway through World War 1. It leaves me wondering if they are reading about the progress of the war. It would be interesting to know the relationship between the women (mother, sister, daughter, aunt). Perhaps a man absent from the photo was serving overseas.

So there is! I like it even more now. But yes, perhaps not such a contented scene as it appears.
