Andrea, I imagine you are right! The timber barons were wealthy business men who developed the lumber trade in the Ottawa Valley. Their vision has had a lasting impact on the history, economy and culture of the area. My Irish ancestors worked for the first gentleman, Philemon Wright, so he is of special interest to me.
